This document explains the intent, thinking and in the MessageObject class

The MessageObject class is the base class for all messages to be sent across a network. It provides a standard base to deserialise to and an easy way to test, using C# standard object.GetType method, to test for what type of message has been receieved. All classes inheriting from the MessageObject class must implement a constructor and must be marked with the [Serializable] attribute.

  • Data : This provides a way for any message to contain custom extra data but does not need to be accessible through all (if any) constructors of sub-classes.

This class has not got, and should never have, any further properties, methods or events.
